URGENT: Police arrest third person in Glasgow for 9 December protests!

The Glasgow Defence Campaign has just learned that in the last 30 minutes, a 17 year old student, already facing charges from the violent eviction of the Free Hetherington, has been arrested by police in relation to protests in Glasgow on 9 December 2010. As far as we are aware, he is being held in Baird Street police station - we call on everyone to phone up to inquire as to his safety and to demand his release. Let Strathclyde police know that an injury to one is an injury to all.

CALL BAIRD STREET POLICE STATION - 0141 532 4100 or 0141 532 4543 - AND DEMAND HIS RELEASE!

Yesterday, 11 April, another activist was outrageously found guilty on politically-motivated, stitched-up charges of police assault also in relation to the 9 December student protests, with another activist facing trial for events that day on 6 June. The GDC once more calls on people to remain vigilant at all times and above all - SAY NOTHING AND SIGN NOTHING - at least without a lawyer present. In making this arrest after four months, Strathclyde police are engaging in open intimidation and will be attempting to lean on people, create divisions and gather information.

Their dirty tricks must be exposed and opposed.

No to political policing! Defend the right to protest!

UPDATE: People will be gathering outside Baird Street police station from 2pm to demand his release - spread the word ad head down in solidarity.
